What You Can Do If You Have Coyotes In Your Yard

Coyotes are a nuisance pest that can be dangerous for your smaller pets and even humans if there is a pack of these pests in your yard. Coyotes can be a nuisance to your yard as well, as they can get into your trash or use your garden as their own personal buffet. If you have coyotes, there may be a few things you can do to help keep them out and away. Read on for some tips.

Put Up A Fence

To keep these pests out of your yard, you can put up a fence of some sort to keep them out. It doesn't have to be a privacy fence that sits 6 feet high—you can install a smaller fence, but one that will keep these pests out. If installing a fence around your entire yard is not something you can do, you can install a fence around your garden area at least to keep these pests from feeding on your garden. You could also install a fence around a small area that keeps these pests away from your small dog, but that allows your dog to go outside without being in danger.

Clean Your Yard

If coyotes are feeding off of things in your yard such as fruit trees, you can clean up your yard to remove the fruits on the ground they are using for food. Rake your yard often and toss the scraps in the trash. Compost areas in your yard may also be an area that the coyotes are using for food. Keep the compost in a container of some sort, or get rid of your compost site altogether.

Set Out A Decoy

If you set up a decoy in your yard, it may help keep coyotes away. A large dog decoy can help keep these pests away. Move the decoy around your yard often to keep the coyote thinking it's a real dog, which could keep the coyotes away. You can also set up a sprinkler system to automatically turn on and spray the coyotes to keep them away.

Call A Professional

Hire a professional animal removal pest control company to help get the coyotes out of your yard and keep them away. These pests may need to be relocated, but you cannot do this on your own. You need a professional to do this work for you. Don't attempt to trap a coyote yourself, or mess with the coyote at all.

If you have a problem with coyotes, you need to stay away from them. Clean up your yard, install a fence and hire a professional to get rid of this problem.
